Cruising the OKEECHOBEE WATERWAY
Cruising up the Caloosahatchee beyond the city of Fort Myers we're well into the Okeechobee Waterway which goes
along picturesque farmlands and riverbanks and little towns - not without their own boatyards, marinas and restaurants.
At Moore Haven we'll go through the final lock into Lake Okeechobee itself and follow its southern rim to Clewiston
where the decision to continue along the rim or cross via the Direct Route must be made. Port Mayaca guards the
entrance back into the St. Lucie Canal up to Indiantown, then to the South Fork of the St. Lucie River and into
Stuart.
