Cruising Florida's PANHANDLE

As the coastal crow flies, it's about 230 miles from St. Marks to Pensacola.

We'll visit some of the most charming of charming little towns, including Carrabelle and Apalachicola.

A side trip to Mexico Beach, the site of absolutely gorgeous beaches (like all of the Panhandle) and the US Eastern/Central Time Zone line, is a possibility. We'll continue along the way to Panama City, another highlight of our trip, as well as next-door Panama City Beach, and on to Destin and Fort Walton Beach.

Save some visiting time for all of these places. Each is unique and each likes visitors for which they've prepared with wonderful marinas, resorts, restaurants, shopping centers and more. Folks go to the extremes with their charming southern hospitality just about everywhere.

Our final Florida port is Pensacola with its nearby Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key. The city has everything, is beautiful and worth some time to enjoy it all, from the restored Seville Square Historical District to the Naval Air Museum at the Navy Base.
