VERO BEACH'S ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING CENTER EXPANDS TOURING OPPORTUNITIES
Besides their usual offerings covered here just about every month, four new projects are being taken on by the ELC. They include activities for families with young children under 8; another for families with children 8 and over; the third is a cell phone audio tour and the fourth is to use a new ELC reference book loaded with facts, figures, descriptions and more.

STUART'S 38TH ANNUAL SHOW IN JANUARY
The 38th Annual Stuart Boat Show is set for January 13 - 15 and it features the 4th Annual Cruiser Expo. The show and expo will be spread out over four locations ... HMY's Waterway Marina, Allied Marine, Apex Marine and Stuart Harbor Marina. Parking is free and water taxis and buses will be providing free shuttle service.

THIRD ANNUAL INDIAN RIVER NAUTICAL FLEA MARKET & SEAFOOD FESTIVAL - JANUARY 21-22.

THIRD ANNUAL PALM BEACH MARINE FLEA MARKET & SEAFOOD FESTIVAL SET FOR FEBRUARY
February 10-12 are the scheduled days at the West Palm Beach South Florida Fairgrounds. Further contact information is not available at this time.
MIAMI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 16 - 20
The annual Miami Boat Show - in three locations - will run from February 16 to 20 at three locations: Miami Beach Convention Center; Sea Isle Marina & Yachting Center and Strictly Sail Miami at Miamarina at Bayside.
Show Hours are as follows:
- Premier Day: Thursday, Feb. 16, 10 AM - 6 PM
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 17-19, 10 AM - 8 PM
- Monday, Feb. 20 - 10 AM - 6 PM.
- The two waterfront locations will be open from 10 AM to 6 PM daily.
Tickets are available for purchase on line now and at all three locations on show days.

Anticipating its big Three-Oh, Southwest Florida Yachts announced a three-year "Berth Day" party culminating in 2014.
Barb Hansen, co-owner and manager, said the premiere chartering firm will give charter customers free cruising days in 2012,2013 and 1014 on all power and sailing vessels.
Hansen said it works like this: if you set up a three-days or longer cruise between December 15 and April 30 you'll get one free cruising day. That's the winter season. And if you cruise in the summer season you'll get two free cruising days.
DECEMBER NEWS: Their FLORIDA SAILING & CRUISING SCHOOL is also getting in on the 30th Anniversary Promotion by presenting graduates between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2014 with a Weems & Plath navigation tool.

HISTORY OF DIVING MUSEUM
REPEATING IN JANUARY: The not-for-profit museum, located at MM 83 Bayside in Islamorada (Phone: 305-664-9737) is open daily, 10AM-5PM and schedules the following: Sea Hunt, the original TV Series with Lloyd Bridges is shown every Saturday between 3 and 5 PM and a Comprehensive safe boating course under the instruction of a USCG Master Captain is presented FREE to Monroe County Students on the first Sunday of every month. (Donations are appreciated from all others.) Classes are scheduled from 10:30AM-12:30PM and prospective students should register by phone at 305-664-9737.
