Universal Marine Center Shipyard has opened on Fort Lauderdale's New River. The yard is just west of Cable Marine and to the east of Rolly Marine... you may want to jot that down on Chart 10 in your print FCD as we will do in the next edition of print and have done on this Web site. OUTBOARD FISHING TOURNAMENTS
MarineMax has announced their new tournament schedule for outboards only set for this Summer along Florida's Emerald Coast ... with one out of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Everybody's welcome; these are family-friendly events.
The Outboard Invitational Series starts July 2 in Destin; followed by July 30 in Panama City and August 27 in Pensacola. The Alabama tournament is set for August 13.
Besides the fishing there will be shore side events with prizes, dinners and more fun depending on the location. Fisher House, which benefits the US military personnel in their time of need, will benefit from the entry fees.

REPEATING IN JULY: FORT PIERCE CITY MARINA ANNOUNCES LOWERED SUMMER RATES
Reduced Summer Rates for dockage go into effect on June 1 through September 30. Free WiFi remains, as does the on-site every Saturday morning Farmer's Market from 8 'til noon. The Jazz Society's Arts & Crafts Market is immediately to the west ... same time every Saturday.
Other downtown attractions right in the neighborhood include the Historical Sunrise Theatre, shops, restaurants and museums.

HISTORY OF DIVING MUSEUM
The not-for-profit museum, located at MM 83 Bayside in Islamorada (Phone: 305-664-9737) is open daily, 10 AM-5 PM and schedules the following: Sea Hunt, the original TV Series with Lloyd Bridges is shown every Saturday between 3 and 5 PM and a Comprehensive safe boating course under the instruction of a USCG Master Captain is presented FREE to Monroe County Students on the first Sunday of every month. (Donations are appreciated from all others.) Classes are scheduled from 10:30AM-12:30PM and prospective students should register by phone at 305-664-9737.
REPEATING IN JULY: Through September 5, Labor Day weekend, active military personnel and up to 5 members of each family are offered free admission as part of the Museum's participation in the Blue Star Museums program. Check this out HERE.

ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING CENTER
REPEATING IN JULY: The Vero Beach ELC web site is www.DiscoverELC.org. Their schedule of events is listed on the site. They offer several guided trips by boat if you choose to drive over.
There's a good schedule of Summer Ecology Adventures for students from Pre-K up to those entering 12th grade being offered.
A June Press Release has been received advising residents the county's sponsored events, classes and programs. These include a note that Fishing Licenses are required for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Visit the web site: www.pinellascounty.org/events and from there you can check out boat ramps, ramp fee information, etc.
The county's own Belle Harbour Marina is in Tarpon Springs, open seven days with wet and dry slip storage only; no public boat ramp is available there. The marina phone is 727-943 8489.
