NATIONAL MARINA DAY IS SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 9.
Check with the folks at your marina to see if there's a celebration!

National Marina Day prompts us to group the following messages about marinas:

LAISHLEY PARK MUNICIPAL MARINA, Punta Gorda

There's a new restaurant right next door ... and the marina will provide free dockage if you visit for lunch or dinner ..... Marina phone is 941-575-0142.

Besides the restaurant, Punta Gorda's new Harborwalk  has shops worth checking out and the Scoops & Bites for "Ice Cream with a View."  Be aware too that there are hotels available if you want to spend a night or two ashore or if  guests outnumber the bunks.

The big Fishermen's Village Yacht Basin with shops and restaurants is there at the west end of Harborwalk. Their very good calendar of events is included in our monthly web site updates on  the "back page."

It's a good walk or bicycle ride ... and bicycles are available at Lasihley Park Marina for you to borrow for checking out the town. FREE!

This "rebuilt-after-hurricanes" little city is really beautifully updated and worth a visit ...

TITUSVILLE'S MUNICIPAL MARINA has announced that their new Mooring Field is up-and-running. The marina phone is 321 383 5600; web site is www.titusville.com/marina ... where you'll see a few great aerial photos of the marina and the city and mention of the low rates at that new mooring field ... and more.

MARATHON MARINA has added a new BIG RIG RV PARK to its facilities!  Besides fine dining at the great ocean-front Lazy Days Restaurant, there's a swimming pool, free wi-fi & cable ...  everything for a great vacation for you on your boat ... and RV friends can now join you there in their RVs!

The on-site Boatyard has repairs and services, too. Phone 305 743-6575 or visit www.marathonmarinaandresort.com.

ANOTHER MARINA IN MARATHON ...

... at Coral Lagoon Resort, will now go back to its old name:  The Boathouse Marina @ Coral Lagoon Resort. New phone number for the marina is 305 481-0653 and Larry Olson, former Dockmaster there, is back as Manager.  You may want to jot that down on Chart 14 in print edition, page 84.

NOT A MARINA, BUT STILL A RESTAURANT DOCK IN NORTH FORT MYERS ...

The Best Western Fort Myers Waterfront, 239-997-5511, still has the old dock  which can be used for restaurant dining only ... no overnight dockage!  It's just to the west of the US 41 bridge on the north shore. We removed it from our Chart 17 a couple of years ago as we were told (or misunderstood) that the dock had been removed. It's still there as of May, 2012! You may want to jot that down on Chart 17, page 94, near Marinatown Marina's listing.

This puts all the grocery needs of dockage customers within walking distance.  Besides food items, they now have Beer, Wine and Cigarettes.

AND BESIDES THAT ...
