RAMADA WATERFRONT in SARASOTA HAS NEW PHONE NUMBER
The new Ramada Waterfront Hotel Sarasota & The Bearded Clam Restaurant & Tiki Bar in Sarasota has had a recent change of phone number and callers to the old number are advised to call the new one. You may want to jot it down on Chart 19 ... it's 941-358-1000.
Besides the new phone, the on-site restaurant is fast becoming a local favorite. On a recent visit there we were shown around one of the new "fun places" in town. The tiki bar has extended "happy hours," live music nightly plus day and evening music on weekends. Their entertainment schedule is posted at the bar and more complete information with hours and Sunday brunch is available at the web site: www.thebeardedclamsarasota.com.
Restaurant owners Terri Pulaski and Wesley Rose also own and operate the award-winning Lucky Dawgs Restaurant in St. Mary's Georgia. The family-friendly Sarasota menu includes steak, shrimp, hot dogs and more. You can call the restaurant directly at 941-355-2600.
The phone number on Chart 16 is "there" for Naples Bay Resort Marina but somehow the name went missing! Please pencil that in on page 98 in your FCD. Was it our fault or could it have been the new printer??? ... or maybe we can just "blame the computer"??? Our apologies to readers and the marina folks.
JACKSONVILLE'S NEW DOCKS
The City of Jacksonville has had Bellingham Marine build new docks for placement at the city's Riverside Arts Market Dock on the St. Johns River at the NW corner of the Fuller Warren (I-95) bridge. The dock is open for boaters' use from 9AM to 4PM on Saturdays when visiting the Saturday market where they can shop for arts and crafts and farmers' market items every week. The market area is actually under the highway ... so it goes rain or shine on Saturdays.
If you need to know more about this or the city's Metro Park Docking Facility for Special Events contact Dockmaster Jim Suber at 904-630-0839. (The number currently shown on Chart 1 is for the Parks Department which can connect you to the marina, but you may want to jot down this "directly to the marina" number on the chart.)
GERANIUMS at BLIND PASS
There's an unusual decoration on the outside wall of the Dockmaster's Office at Blind Pass Marina on St. Pete Beach. In April we discovered that a "window box" attached to the wall is filled with beautiful red geraniums! We commented on the decor and DM Todd Nye said he gets quite a few such mentions. We'll have to keep an eye out for changes in the box ... maybe there will be poinsettias there in December ...
